Another reason to control your own content - if it matters!

Yep I lost 5 about two weeks ago.

I contacted them over and over and finally got an awkward stupid answer saying I had violated terms. When I mailed them the other day, asking for a supervisor, I found out that support@blogger.com no longer exists!!! You can't even mail them!

I'm going to blog about it and make use of my 10K hits a day The bastards...

That sux. I can understand not wanting Splogs, but linking between blogs is one of the core components of blogging.

Man that stinks,

I just added my link to the favorites section a couple days ago and took it down.

So dumb. . . a couple months ago someone must have clicked the flag blog button claiming my blog was a spam blog.

Like most bloggers I discuss real content dealing with tech.

I had to verify that I wasn't spamming, blogger reviewed my site and apologized.

Hey Mike, well yeah some effort was lost, and it's a pain in the ass of course. What's worse though, is the arbitrary nature of the removal, no warning, no "hey, knock that off", just removed. And then of course the 4 or 5 emails to get to the root of it all. Then to make matters worse, I can't mail support now, just won't go through.

Now, these are just play blogs, all my main blogs are on MY hosting, and MY domains, but still, to have blogspot just delete you for no reason is annoting to say the least.

Hmm, once I'd moved my blogs to my own servers I left the links from the profile page because my blogger profile often is on the first page of serps in google

I've been tempted to add links to all my blogs from there, but I think I'll refrain.

Not that they can do anything to my own hosted content.

But as everyone is saying, it's just another reason to be in charge of and host your own content...

Yeah, that's what I don't get. There are millions of spam blogs out there and blog spammers with blogger accounts and when they get caught, they just get another one. I myself have a few blogspot ones, they were just playblogs to start out with, but now that they are starting to rank, I will just not touch them. I figgure if they haven't been banned in a year, why would they do it now if I don't make any changes to them. That said, I do know that whatever reasons they may have had for banning blogs were in fact not valid reasons, just the same attitude like they have shown in some of the Jagger or whatchamacallit updates where they basically wanted to throw off seos.
